The drawbacks of turmeric.

Turmeric contains something called oxalates.

In one study where patients were given only 2.8 grams of turmeric, this increased urine levels of oxalate.

This oxalate can increase the risk of kidney stones by forming calcium oxalate crystals in our kidneys.

One way you can reduce the risk of this is by actually consuming sources of calcium alongside your turmeric so that the calcium binds to the oxalate before it can be absorbed.
