Did you know that many supplements contain ingredients that haven't been tested for long term health effects?
For example, the most popular vitamin tablet brand in the UK contained titanium dioxide until it was banned in February 2022 because it may cause cancer.
Titanium in the brain is linked to Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and motor neuron disease (1).
Although titanium dioxide was allowed in food and pharmaceuticals, scientific reviews show we don’t have enough studies to know what happens in our body to the titanium we consume from supplements (2).
We know titanium from polluted air can cause problems, but we don’t actually know if the titanium we consume ends up in our brain.
Taking this risk is unnecessary.
